Thank You, Startup Spirit! DiskRaptor Featured as Free Space-Saver
A big thank you to Startup Spirit for featuring DiskRaptor in the article “Speicher voll? Wie das kostenlose DiskRaptor die größten Platzfresser sichtbar macht”! The German startup magazine tells exactly the story behind DiskRaptor: full disks, hidden space wasters, and a free tool that makes them visible in seconds. Danke für diesen tollen Beitrag!
What Startup Spirit wrote
Startup Spirit describes the everyday problem almost everyone knows: the laptop gets slow, storage is full, and nobody knows why. Forgotten downloads, old backups and leftover program files pile up for months. DiskRaptor scans the drive and clearly shows where the space went — for Windows, macOS and Linux, in over 25 languages.
Solo developer, three operating systems
The article highlights what makes DiskRaptor special: built alone in just one month as a modern, open-source successor to JDiskReport, running on all three major operating systems, fully translated into 25+ languages. It also mentions the early traction — over 80 store views per day shortly after launch — and the background: programming since 1999, plus many years of part-time hotline work that shaped the motto “klare Software für echte Probleme”.
A real-world example: 40 GB in 30 seconds
Startup Spirit shares the story of a user from Germany whose laptop was barely usable anymore. With DiskRaptor he found the biggest space hogs within 30 seconds and deleted over 40 GB of unnecessary data — afterwards his system reportedly started around 50 percent faster, no reinstall needed.
Free with no strings attached
The magazine emphasizes what matters most to us: DiskRaptor is free and open source. No ads, no paid version, no data collection. Available in the Mac App Store, the Microsoft Store and on GitHub — with a link to www.diskraptor.com to learn more.
Why this feature means a lot
Startup Spirit reports on “Gründen, wachsen, durchhalten — für alle, die am Anfang stehen.” As a one-person indie project from Partschins, South Tyrol, being portrayed in exactly that context — founding, growing, persevering — is a huge honor. And the closing quote in the article is indeed the mission: “Meine Mission ist es, Software zu entwickeln, die komplexe technische Probleme für alle Menschen verständlich und lösbar macht.”
Vielen Dank, Startup Spirit, for the fair, warm and precise portrait — and for helping German-speaking users discover DiskRaptor!
